SheRises Amplify & Thrive Foundation Inc. – Scholarship Program

Overview

At SheRises Amplify & Thrive Foundation Inc., we are committed to empowering women entrepreneurs, especially those from underserved and marginalized communities. Our scholarship program is designed to provide financial support and resources to women at the beginning stages of their entrepreneurial journey, including those who have a clear vision but have not yet launched their business. We believe in the power of economic independence and entrepreneurship as key drivers of social change and community empowerment.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a SheRises Amplify & Thrive Foundation scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Women Entrepreneurs: Applicants should identify as women and be at the early stages of their entrepreneurial journey. This includes individuals who have a clear business vision but may not have launched their business yet.

  • Commitment to Social Change: We are looking for applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to social change, community empowerment, and economic independence.

  • Entrepreneurial Drive: You should show passion and motivation for launching and growing a business that can positively impact your community and beyond.

Step-by-Step Process

1. Application Submission
To apply for a scholarship, you must submit a completed online application. Your application will ask you to:

  • Describe your vision for your business, including the goals and mission.

  • Outline the steps you’ve already taken toward launching your business.

  • Explain how the scholarship will help you overcome challenges and advance to the next stage in your entrepreneurial journey.

Applications are open year-round, and the final deadline submission for each year’s scholarship cycle is October 31st at 11:59 PM MST/Phoenix for that year’s scholarship awards.

2. Selection Process
Our selection committee will carefully review all applications. Scholarships will be awarded based on:

  • Vision: The clarity and impact of your business idea.

  • Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to social change, community empowerment, and economic independence.

  • Potential for Success: The potential of your business to succeed and create positive change in your community.

3. Award Notification
If selected, you will be notified via email during the second week of December. Award recipients will be required to sign and return a Scholarship Agreement Contract, which outlines the terms and conditions of the scholarship.

4. Proof of Use
Scholarship recipients must provide proof of how the funds have been used within 90 days of receiving the award. Acceptable documentation may include receipts, invoices, or other proof showing how the funds were allocated toward business development, education, product development, or other eligible expenses.

How to Apply

To apply for a SheRises scholarship:

  1. Complete the online application form here.

  2. Share your business vision, the steps you’ve taken toward launching your business, and how receiving the scholarship will help you overcome specific challenges.

  3. Submit your application by the October 31st deadline.

Applications are accepted year-round, but only applications submitted before the deadline will be considered for the current year’s awards (applications received after the deadline date will be considered for the following year’s scholarship). Important Terms and Conditions

Scholarship Awarding Process

  • Scholarships will be awarded based on the greatest potential for success, as determined by our review committee.

  • Scholarships can be used for business education, business planning, product development, or other essential startup needs.

Proof of Fund Usage

  • Scholarship recipients are required to submit proof of how the funds were used within 90 days of being awarded the scholarship. This proof ensures the scholarship is being used in alignment with the purpose for which it was granted.

  • If proof is not submitted within 90 days, SheRises Amplify & Thrive Foundation Inc. reserves the right to take legal action to recover any funds, including legal fees.

Extensions for Proof Submission

  • If you are unable to submit the required proof of usage within the 90-day timeframe, you may request an extension. The request must be in writing and sent to kelly@kellyboyer.org. Extensions are not guaranteed and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Consent to Scholarship Agreement

  • If selected, recipients will be notified by email and must consent to the Scholarship Agreement Contract. The contract will outline the scholarship terms, including fund usage and documentation requirements.

Disclaimers and Legal Information

  • Tax Responsibility: Recipients may be subject to tax obligations related to the scholarship. It is the recipient’s responsibility to consult with a tax professional regarding any potential tax liabilities.

  • Changes to Terms: SheRises Amplify & Thrive Foundation Inc. reserves the right to change or amend the scholarship terms and conditions at any time. Any updates will be posted on this page, and all applicants and recipients will be notified.

  • Legal Action for Non-Compliance: Failure to provide documentation or misuse of the funds may result in legal action to recoup financial losses, including any legal fees incurred in the process of recouping the funds.
